Fifteen seconds at Times Square
On 16 August 2026 a work by Stefan Seitz ran on a billboard in the middle of New York — together with eleven other artists, once an hour, for a full day.
The board stands at 1560 Broadway, across from Duffy Square. It showed an overview by the Visual Art Journal with twelve positions side by side, one of them a work by Stefan Seitz. The slot ran for 24 hours, in the ninth minute of every full hour, for fifteen seconds.
A screen on Broadway is the opposite of a workshop. The figures take days to emerge from a single log, in sawdust and noise, and afterwards stand still in a room. Here they were light above a crossing for fifteen seconds, between adverts for shoes and musicals. Both belong together: what is found in the workshop has to go out at some point and be seen.
